Our summer placements at Fife Ethylene Plant give you a valuable insight into how a leading engineering organisation works. You will join with a group of students and will be given a real project to work on, where you will develop solutions and make recommendations. You will have the opportunity to interact with a variety of different disciplines and levels of the organization, allowing you to demonstrate your project management, analytical, interpersonal and leadership skills. You will be mentored and developed throughout your project to build on your skills, whilst also given the opportunity to be assessed for a permanent Graduate position within ExxonMobil following your university studies.
In previous years, the projects have been challenging, engaging and diverse. Recent projects included initiatives on key energy variables, furnace monitoring and plant optimisation.
Outside of work, you will have the option of living with your fellow placement students in Edinburgh in subsidised accommodation, allowing you to enjoy the variety of sights and attractions it has to offer, including the renowned Edinburgh Festival. The site's Thistle Club also provides opportunity to participate in subsidised activities such as karting, theatre trips and clay pigeon shooting.
The Summer Internship Program runs from beginning of July to end of August of each year.
