About the Role:

ABB is currently developing the IS PMO Organization to consolidate and deliver high quality IS services to ABB business units around the globe and focus more of our attention to innovation and development. Joining the ABB IS PMO Organization, you will have the opportunity to work in a high-paced, international environment, solve complex problems and grow together with the rapidly developing business. For our growing global team, we are currently looking for candidates for the position of Global Operational IS PMO Manager to build our Project Management capability.

The core responsibility of Global Operational IS PMO Manager will be planning, coordinating and managing all aspects of IS program / IS project portfolio to agreed targets, time, in budget and quality of functionality, in coordination with internal ABB or 3rd party project execution resources. Additionally, the Global Operational IS PMO Manager will interact with functional / business unit leadership to develop the PMO related activities that aligns with the overall ABB program / project portfolio and business objectives and priorities. Leading a team of Operation IS PMO leads / specialist, the role will implement a robust and flexible IS program / IS project execution methodology as well as the delivery, both locally and globally, of Operational IS Project Management Office (PMO).

As a Global IS PMO Manager, you will:

- Lead the PMO team and monitor the IS program/IS project portfolio delivery according to agreed targets, identifying potential risks and proposing mitigation actions. You will also be an escalation point for issues needing resolution;
- Build trust and confidence in IS Projects through proven track record of successful delivery of IS projects belonging to the Global IS projects portfolio,
- Deliver IS project management services within ABB Group supporting execution of requirements within budgeted costs and time schedule;
- Support project initiation activities and verify quality of project proposals;
- Ensure meeting IS PM KPI targets for IS projects in the Global IS projects portfolio as well as measure Operational IS PMO KPIs and business value;
- Ensure learning and experience from IS projects contributes to knowledge base and support continues improvement initiatives;
- Ensure quality and adherence to IS Project Management Standards;
- Support the prioritization of project portfolio in concert with the IS program/ IS project sponsors and the wider PMO team, based on changing functional needs, resource capacity constraints, risk exposure, and other interdependencies;
- Define principles and standards to harmonize IS program/IS project management methodologies from internal or 3rd party external service providers;
- Define Operational IS PMO services and ensure its consistent delivery, globally;
- Advise and consult on project and programme setup and configuration as well as provide performance assessment;
- Consult and provide input for any incident, change or project which has, or might have, a major impact on area of responsibility. In case of problems, provide project recovery;
- Execute, for assigned tasks, all actions in IS processes according to agreed RACIS and LEC specification;
- Communicates status of the IS project and IS program portfolio to all stakeholders in business units and head of integrated services group;
- Coach and consult project Sponsor, business PM and Steco about IS Project governance and methodology;
- Participate in IS Project Steco and proactively support it with key decisions;
- Manage to the right level of sponsor's and Steco engagement throughout the project lifecycle;
- Ensure that investments and initiatives in IS project management services are aligned with business strategy and priorities;
- Onboard, oversee, coach and mentor IS Project Managers during project lifetime as well as conduct their performance assessment on IS Project;
- As the case may be, ensure (with HR Manager support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Guides, motivates and develops direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies, for the benefit of both ABB and the employee.

- Above 10 years of experience in program and project management;
- Previous hands-on experience in project/portfolio resource planning, reporting, prioritization, and budgeting;
- Superior project diagnosis and risk management skills;
- Above 1 year experience in working in a non-native country and culture;
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and consulting skills accompanied by proven ability to work effectively with all organizational levels;
- Strong experience in building long lasting business relationships as well as in stakeholder management within an international context;
- Excellent process knowledge and experience in implementing processes (including business processes) and organizations;
- Solid IS technology knowledge across the IS functions;
- Capable in IT & project financial management and organizational change management;
- Competent in project management, IT governance formulation, and team management;
- Fluent spoken and written English;
- Excellent Project Management knowledge to the required level confirmed with IS PM Certification or PMP Certification from PMI;
- IS Project Methodology, Governance Model, stage Gate Model and Operating Model knowledge;
- Leadership qualities: result orientation, change management, personal leadership, people development, team work and collaboration, intercultural sensitivity, customer orientation, strategic orientation.
