The selected student will work at Jacobs; Tullahoma, TN office for the Spring term of 2017. The student will work in the Mechanical Process and/or Machine Design group - groups that perform engineering design of testing equipment and facilities for the automotive and aerospace industries.
Students will work 40-hour work weeks for the duration of the term. Students will work on project teams under the directions of a manager and with the assistance of a mentor, are required to attend planned activities, and must make an end-of-assignment presentation to other interns and Jacobs' staff.
Degree Program: BSME or MSME
Cumulative GPA: 3.0
Current Status: Junior or above
Area of Study: Mechanical Engineering
Outside Activities: Involvement in at least one extra-curricular activity
Coursework: Fluid Mechanics, Thermo, Machine Design
Experience: Familiarity with 3D CAD and Finite Element Analysis is a plus
Other: Must have the right to work permanently in the United States, good verbal and written communication skills, must be team-oriented, good problem solving skills, highly self-motivated, willing to take initiative, and able to work with minimum supervision.
