About the Role:

The successful candidate will be part of the Business Execution Project Management Office (PMO) team focusing on successful leadership of projects related to process and system improvements in the in the Exelon Generation Company's commodity business. Constellation, the company's wholesale and retail power marketing and trading organization, is responsible for optimizing the profitability of a growing portfolio of assets and load obligations.

  • Identifying, prioritizing, and executing system and process work
  • Transforming the approach to delivering strategic solutions across the Commercial organizationIdentify and implement best practices and strategic solutions through process & system analysis
  • Lead and manage spend, priority and oversight of technology investments and the Retail Roadmap
This role reports up through Constellation Operations and supports all business lines, commodities and functional areas throughout the organization.

The PMO is the hub for all projects and programs within the Constellation retail organization and involves leading project execution, tracking / reporting, assurance / quality control, risk / issue tracking, scope control, support and knowledge management by which the organization learns from project experiences. The primary function for this position is to lead projects of varying nature, scope and size through all phases of the lifecycle .

Position responsibilities:
  • Partner with the business to create the business case to request funding for projects within project/funding timeline
  • Partner with IT to determine project estimate and system project approach
  • Create and own the project plan throughout the lifetime of the project
  • Lead project teams to accomplish the business and project objective(s)
  • Coordinate change management plan
  • Manage project schedule, scope, budget, work items and project changes
  • Provide updates and status (formal/routine and informal/ad hoc)
  • Monitor and control project change, quality and risk
  • Apply intellect to view projects holistically, spot and resolve issues, use appropriate project management tools and techniques, and continuously seeks to improve project outcomes
  • Demonstrate effectiveness in resolving project problems, matching work pace to the project and business needs, engaging stakeholders at the appropriate time and level of detail and holding themselves and others accountable
  • Contribute to the project management community within Constellation and Exelon Corporate

Minimum requirements
  • Bachelor's degree is required with a preference in Business, IT, Engineering or other related field
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Minimum of five (5) years in Project Management and/or Managing teams
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of professional experience
Preferred qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge and use of VersionOne
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Scrum, Agile, and Kanban preferred
  • Current scrum master certification
  • Demonstrated knowledge of both the Retail and Wholesale Gas and/or Power business
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing change management initiatives
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the energy industry and retail operations and an understanding of the end to end processes and controls
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with IT that functions within Agile framework
  • Ability to effectively manage workload and meet aggressive deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal, motivational and communication skills
  • Superior and proven ability to influence, build alignment and partner across the organization
  • Experience with coordinating change management efforts associated with projects
  • Proven ability to lead a team with multiple employees in remote locations
  • Proven ability to be a key contributor to a discussion and drive decision making
