About the Role:

The VEV Electrical Breadboard and Systems signoff team utilizes and manages various electrical breadboards for Product Development's VP prototype testing and validation. This includes interactions with Tier 1 suppliers, Purchasing, Program Management Team, Design and Release Engineering, and VEV Test Planning and PMA Teams to specify and validate the breadboard Bill of Materials (BOM), request approval to add missing parts or delete parts not required. The Prototype Parts Management Analyst will be required to manage and track electrical breadboard prototype and required parts BOM for FDJ and VP prototype builds.

Position Duties Include:
• Work with the test engineers to specify Electrical breadboard minimum feature configurations for each program (define how many breadboard per program required for testing and electrical contents of breadboards)
• Validate Electrical Breadboard Bill of Materials part list for each program for FDJ and VP milestones. Work with engineer and prototype planning to meet program order deadline
• Submit parts orders, keep track of parts materials required date and timing
• Contact Design and Release engineer, and suppliers to resolve part order issues (cost, timing, red borders, surrogates)
• Help manage VP signoff breadboard schedules and test plan
• Communize Engineering breadboard BOM list and process, identify efficiencies and process improvements / cost effective ideas
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Automotive Test Engineering experience a plus
  • Experience with Ford part number, naming, release, & ordering process a plus
  • Knowledge of Ford systems such as Plant Floor Scheduler, Fit for Test database, WORQ system, & RPS / GPIRS a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, work well with diverse group of engineers, suppliers, & purchasing
  • Good collaboration skills, able to work with multiple people and manage a variety of projects simultaneously
  • Excellent English skills (Oral, reading, writing and listening)
  • Expert user of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and Project) and ability to work with Macros
  • Exceptional organizational and planning skills
  • Exceptional leadership skills and proven record
  • Ability to identify and implement process improvements

Essential Functions

Physical Requirements

Lifting - less than 50lbs- 25%

Special clothing/equipment - PPE (safety glasses, slip resistant hardened toe shoes, hearing protection in designated areas) - 100%

Sitting (75%), Standing (50%), Bending (25%), stooping (25%)

Exposure to high noise areas possible in test facility - 25%

Work Environment

Inside, office environment, test lab - 100%

Exposure to test equipment- 25%

May require occasional local travel- 25%

Equipment and Machines

Computers, fax machines, copiers, telephones - 100%

Occasional use of hand tools - 25%


Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with possible weekend and after-hour support as needed

Day shift

Attendance and punctuality are critical - 100%

Work hours are normally 8 hours per day and 5 days per week, Monday-Friday. Regular attendance of scheduled hours is extremely important. Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary. Must have flexibility of work days to cover weekend testing requirements.

Other Essential Functions

Must complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, health performance evaluation, and background check.

Must demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealing with customers, management and co-workers. Must have clear, concise and accurate communications skills in English, both verbal and written. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk to self or others. Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner. Dependable personal transportation to work site is required.
