Jacobs has partnered with NASA to support space flight programs for more than 40 years. While the majority of work is directly in support of LaRC, other industry partners and Government agencies may be supported at remote sites as directed by the Contracting Officer (CO). The Center Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering (CMOE) contract comprises of three major categories of work - operations, maintenance, and engineering (OME), as described below.
•Maintenance - Research and institutional facility maintenance includes, but not limited to, preventive maintenance, trouble calls, repairs, Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Facility Condition Assessment (FCA), and maintenance/operation of central utilities (e.g., electrical power distribution, potable water, storm water drainage)
•Operations - Facilities Operations support includes, but not limited to, wind tunnels, laboratories, and test stands testing, instrumentation calibration/repair; plant and utilities (e.g., high pressure air, Liquid Nitrogen (LN2) and Steam Plant); technology development and administration, including, but not limited to, Facility Automation Systems (FAS) and Data Acquisition Systems (DAS)
•Engineering - Facility engineering includes, but not limited to, engineering studies, design, construction, construction management, configuration management, tactical engineering, pressure system recertification, project management/planning support.
Primary duty is ensuring your personal safety, the safety of co-workers and customers. Supports the Maintenance Services Group performing Mobile crane rigging, lifting and transporting various large objects using lifting and rigging equipment including mobile and overhead cranes, forklifts, dollies, slings, shackles, come-a-longs, hoists, jacks and assorted handle tools. Knowledgeable of local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations to safely rig and move objects. Must have a valid CDL license. Must be able to obtain certification to operate various types of equipment to include forklifts, vehicles of various sizes, and over head cranes.
U.S. Citizenship required. Valid CDL license is required. Six years experience or any equivalent combination of experience and training in a designated field, craft, or trade that can be documented by a certificate or diploma from a reputable organization, school, or trade program. Knowledgeable of local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations to safely rig and move objects. Must be able to obtain certification to operate various types of equipment to include forklifts, vehicles of various sizes, and over head cranes. Must be able to effectively communicate well with others. CMOE Maintenance employees will exercise diligence when developing a Safe Plan of Action (SPA) for each task performed. Your SPA is a Company provided tool to be used for the prevention of incidents, accidents, and injuries: as such, it is the most important tool that you are required to use.
Visual and physical (hands on) contact of rigging related systems, hardware, articles. Must be able to walk, stand, bend, twist and sit for extended periods as well as climb, crawl, and lift up to 35 lbs. (20%), body mobility (60%) and corrected vision (100%).
