Logistics Specialist - Senior Job Description:
Performs independent, professional, non-routine assignments within areas of responsibility, as assigned. Responsible for a portion of a business activity, conducting routine work independently and in some cases instructing lower-level assistants. Conducts independent interviews and data analysis regarding moderately complex issues or procedures, and prepares reports to supervision or management regarding evaluations and recommendation. Evaluates business systems to determine effectiveness of procedures and recommends improvements. Prepares and conducts briefings or presentations as required. Serves as department representative on special assignments involving area of expertise.
Minimum Education/Experience Requirements: Bachelor's Degree and four (4) years of relevant, progressive experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required skills include:
- Logistics detailed knowledge to effectively plan, coordinate, execute and/or assist in execution of all logistics functions, to include: Supply, Maintenance, Transportation, General Engineering, Health Services, and Services.
- Experience using automated information systems (AIS) such as: Automated Air-load Planning System (AALPS); Asset Tracking for Logistics and Supply System (ATLASS); Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRSS); Integrated Computerized Deployment System (ICODES); Global Tracking Network (GTN); and Global Deployment Support System (GDSS); Joint Operation Planning Execution System (JOPES); MAGTF Deployment Support System (MDSS II); Marine Corps Readiness Information Tool (MERIT); Marine Corps Integrated Maintenance Management (MIMMS); Single Mobility System (SMS); Supported Activity Supply System (SASSY); and the Special Operations Forces Sustainment and Asset Visibility Information Exchange (SSAVIE).
Must possess an active Secret Security Clearance.
Work will be performed inside a large facility. Work assignments vary based on client requirements. Position could require some night and weekend work. Some travel may be required based on client requirements.
Sitting at desk. Phone use and PC or laptop. Filing required. May require lifting and carrying boxes of supplies or files up to 25 lbs. Extended periods of sitting while on PC/laptop or phone.
Equipment and Machines
General office equipment, which includes: telephone, fax machine, copier, PC/laptop, and other miscellaneous office equipment.
Work assignments dependent on requirements by the client. It is important to be able to work at least 8 hours a day for 5 days per week (Monday through Friday).

Must be well organized with the ability to coordinate, prioritize and execute multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure environment. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to work effectively with a variety of government, military and contractor personnel at all levels. Must be able to interface effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization. Grooming and dress usually business casual, but dependent on client's standards. Must not pose a safety hazard to employees working in the same general area.
