Within our UK Business we have an opportunity for an experienced Highways CAD Manager to support the Essex Highways Contract and the LoHAC Framework. Reporting directly to the Principal Engineer, the role involves assisting in providing a first-class service to our clients, delivering the planned works and services within their function and ensuring that the challenges of delivering the vision and priorities of our clients are met.
The role will involve working in teams to successfully deliver project work within the LoHAC North East area and for other clients specifically to effectively manage preparation and delivery of drawings utilising AutoCAD, other drawings or information to budget and programme. The role will be based in London Bridge although it should be borne in mind that staff may be asked on occasions to work at other office locations to support project delivery programmes.
- Reporting to the Principal Engineer, you will deliver CAD drawings for a number of teams and schemes, within agreed timetables.
- You will be responsible for the timely and quality production of scheme drawings for major and minor highway projects.
- You will ensure all work produced is aligned with the CAD standards and follows the required checking procedures.
- You will be responsible for resolving technical issues as they occur.
- You will provide assistance to the team in relation to all aspects covered within the function of the group.
- You will need to lead junior technicians and graduate engineers, monitoring workloads and quality of work.
Membership of or working towards a relevant Professional Institution including evidence of continuous professional development.
Knowledge of Highway Legislation, relevant design procedures and standards and good practice.
Knowledge of budgetary governance and controls.
Knowledge of relevant engineering or service techniques and procedures including the use of specialist software tools as required.
Appropriate knowledge and application of Health and Safety legislation including Construction (Design & Management) Regulations.
HNC, A-level education or equivalent qualification, or experience in highways.
Ability to prioritise own work to support business priorities.
Understanding and skill with SignPlot and/or AUTODESK Civil 3D
Have a very good knowledge of AutoCAD and be conversant with bolt on packages, for example AutoTRACK
Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with key people both internally and externally.
Conversant with Microsoft applications Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills (including report writing).
Proven ability to act as a valuable team player.
