Jacobs Technology is looking for a Environmental Manager.
Provide expertise and oversight of Environmental Management Program to include bloodborne pathogens, ergonomics, exposure assessment, hearing conservation, indoor air quality, lab chemical hygiene, lead based paint, and respiratory protection. Provide consistent leadership in hazardous materials management through audits, observing/correcting at-risk behaviors, and developing educational/training programs on environmental-related regulatory topics. Ensure appropriate methodologies and strategies in exposure monitoring. Attend meetings with customer representatives pertaining to environmental protection and compliance. Ensure all documents, records, permits, and other environmental data required by the Federal, state, and local regulations are maintained and provided to the client as requested. The EM shall also provide emergency chemical information and spill response support.
BS degree from an accredited college or university in Industrial Engineering or related and fourteen (14) years related experience, or MS degree and twelve (12) years related experience or Ph.D. and eight (8) years of related experience. Minimum of 3 consecutive years of experience in environmental compliance with experience in hazardous waste management and hazardous substance spill response. In-depth knowledge of Federal, state, and local environmental regulations. Minimum of 40 hours of hazardous waste management training and 16-hour course in hazardous material transporation required. Special training as a site supervisor for spill clean up per 29 CFR 1910 and Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures, Storm Water Polution Prevention, Emerency Planning and Community Right-to-Know (EPCRA), Pollution Prevention, and Asbestos management training preferred. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods. Must be able to interact effectively with all levels of employees and customers.
Primarily work will be performed in an office environment; however, the EM may be required to support site facilities, such as steam plants, water treatment facilities, ship yards, and construction sites.

With the exception of approved leave and holidays, attendance is mandatory. Overtime may be required. This position is expected to be on-site during all regular business hours as aligned with customer requirements. Position or alternate shall be available on-site within one hour of customer's request.
