RWE npower require a Programme Manager / Delivery Manager to join our Domestic Change business. This is a full time role to be based in either our Leeds or Durham sites with travel between both.

Role description and what were looking for Reporting into the Senior Programme Manager, the Programme Manager is a key member of our delivery function within Domestic Change. This role is responsible for achieving strategically important outcomes for the Domestic business by driving projects, portfolios of work, programmes and releases through the end to end change lifecycle. Working closely with the Senior Programme Manager you will obtain approval for and lead on change initiatives within the Domestic Change plan and lead a team of Delivery Consultants to deliver these initiatives to the wider business. You will work with stakeholders across all retail business units and must be comfortable working with executive level stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities: Deliver change initiatives (Projects, Programmes, Portfolios and Releases) on behalf of the Domestic Business
Participate in the early design, shaping and obtaining of approval for change initiatives
Ensure Project start up activities are managed in a controlled and effective way, in line with governance and communication plan
Manage change initiatives in line with Domestic Change Plan requirements and strategic direction
Monitor, assess and manage risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies to ensure they do not have a major impact on the achievement of strategic outcomes/ planned deliverables.
Manage project and programme budget on behalf of senior stakeholders / sponsors and monitor and costs against forecast benefits
Manage and co-ordinate allocation of resources to ensure they are appropriate to the achievement and delivery of requirements.
Ensure that the delivery of products and service outcomes is aligned to strategic and business plans
Ensure that risk management and issue resolution activities are operating effectively and that key strategic issues and risks are escalated as appropriate to the senior programme manager
Develop and maintain a benefits realisation plan and ensure the plan is closely integrated in to the programme strategy
Establish and manage quality plans for projects, portfolio or programmes with associated acceptance criteria
Engage with sponsors to ensure their ongoing support and ensure that all programme outcomes and contributions to strategic and business plan outcomes are fully understood and socialized.
Drive change forward and provide strategic thought leadership in relation to projects, portfolios and programmes of change.
Key Skills: Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Relevant practitioner qualification in project or programme management (Prince2, MSP etc)
Extensive experience in delivering release capability, portfolios, programmes and projects in line with forecast time, cost and quality constraints
Management of professional teams of change delivery staff
Experienced working with third parties on programmes, portfolios and projects
Utilities experience is desired but not essential
