ABB Corporate Research Center in Sweden is located in Västerås, about 100 kilometers west of Stockholm. Together with colleagues in other R&D centers around the world, our scientists develop technologies for future products and services for ABB's core businesses.
One of the key research areas for ABB is power electronics, where we develop innovative, cost-efficient power electronics solutions, power semiconductor technologies and electrical machine designs.
We are glad to continuously offer suitable candidates master thesis projects in the field of power electronic converter topologies for FACTS and HVDC. The tasks may involve for example studies of new topologies in terms of their technical feasibility for becoming the next generation of ABB:s FACTS and HVDC products.
We are looking for students with a strong background in
physics or electrical engineering, with excellent knowledge in power electronics, power semiconductors and energy storage systems.
