The Eastern Area Exploration Department is seeking a Well Planning and Delivery Specialist to join their world-class team.
The successful applicant will possess strong expertise in exploration or development roles that include well planning and operations. You will have a successful track record of preparing well prognoses with uncertainties and securing management approvals. Experience of planning and overseeing well data acquisition programs is required, including wireline and LWD logging, pressure and fluid sampling, VSP, coring, and SCAL. Basic log interpretation skills including GR, Resistivity, Sonic, Density, Caliper, NMR, image logs, mud gas, and shows are also required.
You will hold a Bachelor's degree in Geology, preferably a Master's in Petroleum Geoscience or similar.
Candidates' will have a minimum of 10-years experience in exploration or development roles that include well planning and operations. Be highly adaptable, and fluent in English.
Knowledge of Geolog, Petrel, Techlog, and Petrosys is desired.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be able to create well correlations with confidence and accuracy. Have the ability to prepare basic pore pressure forecasts and be familiar with the geomechanical parameters relevant to well planning. Suitable applicants will possess the expertise to manage and follow an active drilling program, and have experience in risk management and the creation of mitigation plans for drilling activities. Other requirements will include drilling engineering experience, prospect generation experience, seismic interpretation experience, shallow hazard experience, seismic well ties, understanding of rock physics, image log interpretation, and directional survey planning.
You must be able to work independently or in a multidisciplined integrated team, and possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. The successful candidate will have the experience to interface with multiple levels including subordinates, peers, cross-disciplinary colleagues, supervisors, and senior management.
