•Responsible for designing, testing and delivering software scripting solutions which support the testing of digital signal processors (DSPs) for Space telecommunication applications.
•Design, debug and verify the test software for unit control, test automation and result/data processing
•Work with heritage test systems to upgrade test system functions and support the smooth integration of new software with the legacy system.
•Contribute to the overall "test solution" including software, scripting, design reports, procedures and test results.
•Work efficiently within a dedicated test system team and interact closely with product engineers and project managers.
•Deliver test system designs to cost, schedule and quality expectations.
•Support of test activities (including environmental testing) until delivery of flight units to the customer.
•Lead investigations into any test anomalies to rapidly determine the root cause and ensure that customer confidence in the technical solution is maintained.
•Support design reviews (both internal test system reviews and external customer meetings).
•Engineering Degree (Electrical, Software or closely related discipline), 2.1 or above.
•Strong C++ / .net skills
•Knowledge of standard RF test equipment and familiar with their operation (Spectrum analyser, AWG, VNA) including test automation via their control interfaces
•Strong background in working with test equipment and test-benches for product development.
•Experience of hardware/software integration testing.
Solid experience of script application design and development, preferably in a test environment
•Strong Tcl and/or Python scripting experience for test applications (developing test scripts, automating test routines) and data processing (or a related software discipline)
•Ability to consider test system validation requirements throughout the design process.
•Commitment to delivering technical reports (test plans, design documents, test procedures),as required by the project team.
