Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Proposals Engineer, based in Aberdeen
Responsibilities will include:
Prepare, in line with expectations of the Proposals Manager, and in conjunction with relevant departments, full technical methodology statements, engineering solutions and equipment specifications relevant to the tender.
Gain a full understanding of, and be able to present, the technical aspects of company's service offering.
Review and comment on client specifications relating to multiple engineering disciplines and various types of equipment.
Obtain technical, commercial and contractual qualifications & exceptions as relevant, for input into bid document.
Ensure that technical and commercial reviews are completed by appropriate internal stakeholders and any issues identified are resolved via clarifications or addressed within the final proposal.
After submission, coordinate clarification responses with the relevant departments. Attend all relevant internal clarification meetings, and coordinate any other post-submission activities as required.
Provide support as required in preparation for negotiations.
Apply tender procedures to all activities to ensure consistency of approach.
Develop and take ownership of a full technical library and product database, including historical projects that can be utilised on all ongoing and future tenders and proposals.
Maintain a library of up-to-date standard templates that can be used as a basis for preparation of different types of tender, it being understood that the templates should always be modified as necessary to reflect the requirements of individual clients.
Develop and maintain a library of all company, client, national and international codes and standards applicable to a specific project, ensuring their utilisation to meet project requirements and scope of supply.
Contribute to the development and improvement of tender processes, procedures and methodologies.
Ensure that the database is kept up-to-date, to reflect the status of all tendering activities. Produce reports as required.
Ensure that all activities comply with Company's operating and HSEQ policies and procedures.
Performance verification of critical equipment required, and interpretation of results into practical and reasonable mechanical details to ensure functional and cost effective solutions.
Specify to Purchase Order level, and liaise with Purchasing to procure quotations for technically compliant, cost effective equipment via diverse, external supply chain.
Evaluate quotations from sub-suppliers in order to provide cost effective solutions and comprehensive Proposals.
Attend internal project handover meetings post contract award ensuring all relevant project data required for successful project execution is conveyed to all necessary disciplines.
Participate in Lessons Learned processes in context of both overall project and individual items including the use of RCCM techniques (Root Cause Counter Measure).
Ensure Company and departmental processes and procedures are adhered to in the generation of Proposals to produce highest quality of bid.
Ensure adherence to health and safety standards in compliance with Company policy to ensure safe working environment
Proven track record in an Engineering or Technical role
Experience in the oil and gas industry
Experience of creating and delivering tenders/proposals
Working in the drilling waste management, solids control, or drilling fluids areas
Working with staff at all levels
Formal training/qualification in a relevant discipline
Evidence of continued professional development relevant to Technical area
