Process Design Engineer

Position Summary
Process Design Engineer to support the CTO team in the delivery of projects and new products. Working with the sales and business development team to capture new work as a technical support. May be required to support sales activities directly with customer

Approximate time spent away from Offices (i.e. on site) This role is predominantly based in the Houston office. Occasional visits may be required to site / client premises to undertake design surveys or meetings. These visits may involve an overnight stay which will be funded by the company. This position reports to CTO.

Essential Functions
• Act as a Process Design Engineer in support of major / minor projects for the oil and gas industry.
• Work as part of the new product development team
• Understand client requirements (process conditions, application, etc.) to ensure proposed solution is suitable
• Be responsible for the production of process related designs, such as P&ID, hazardous area diagrams, specification/data sheets, process flow diagrams.
• Produce design packs to client specifications.
• Liaison with other departments such as CAD in respect to Process Engineering issues / queries.
• Attend meetings with the client with respect to design reviews and progress updates in support of the project manager/design team.
• Manage Technical Queries in relation to the projects which you are appointed to.
Secondary Duties
• Team member of standardization of designs.
• Liaison with suppliers with respect to the procurement of process related components for the production / installation team.
• Essential Skills
• HNC in Process/Chemical Engineering with 10+ years previous design experience within hazardous areas (NEC/IEC/ATEC/EAC/etc.).
Desirable Skills
• Bachelors of Engineering, or equivalent in Process/Chemical Engineering.
• Knowledge of corrosion, erosion, NACE, enthalpy and any other aspects related to gas sampling and analysis
• Good understanding of hydrocarbons and natural gas.
• Clean driving license record.
