Pipeline Easement Information Center launches
The North Dakota Petroleum Council has launched an effort to help smooth relations between energy pipeline companies and property owners.
Petroleum Council President Ron Ness says more pipelines are needed as the energy industry booms in western North Dakota. He says issues surrounding easements can be difficult to understand, and the center is an effort to smooth the process.
More pipelines will help cut down on road traffic and the wasteful flaring of natural gas. But the Petroleum Council spokeswoman Tessa Sandstrom tells The Bismarck Tribune it's taking up to six months to get easements signed.
