McDermott awarded lump sum contract by Saudi Aramco
Houston-headquartered McDermott International announced on Thursday that it has been awarded a large lump sum contract with Saudi Aramco for work in fields offshore Saudi Arabia.
While the value of the contract is not specified it is the largest single award in McDermott’s lengthy involvement in the Middle East.
It comprises the range of work in engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) for which McDermott is renowned in the industry.
This deal comes just two months after McDermott and Saudi Aramco signed a long-term agreement (LTA).
McDermott’s President and CEO David Dickson credited the company’s existing good relations and local experience for the new contract, saying: “Our detailed knowledge and understanding of Saudi Aramco’s objectives, as well as our proven excellence in the Kingdom and the region continue to set us apart.”
Confirming that regional commitment, McDermott said it will maximize engineering and fabrication work for the new work in Saudi Arabia and Dubai.
