Our client is recruiting for a quality Engineer in the Newcastle area, this is a perm role.
Administer the Company's quality system in accordance with ISO 9001 standard and client Subsea QHSE standards, responsibilities, policies, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities: (Key Tasks)
Implement and maintain the QMS systems relevant to ISO9001 standard.
Review and provide comment on client's project specific quality documentation.
Compile and check project manufacturing data book files.
Implement, develop and communicate client procedures and motivate staff in aspects of procedure implementation.
Implement and maintain lean manufacturing principles.
Develop project-specific quality documentation such as quality plans.
Assist in coordinating quality compliance within facility.
Undertake quality related tasks such as control of calibration and compilation of QMS statistics.
Undertake non-conformance investigation, monitoring and tracking of corrective and preventative actions.
Suggest and implement improvements to the QMS system.
Provide assistance on welding related activities as required.
Respond to technical queries raised by clients.
Attend and assist with client QMS audits, kick-off meetings and pre-sales meetings.
Other duties as required from time to time as directed by client management.
Implement and maintain quality improvement tools and techniques.
Quality assurance - All staff are responsible for the completeness of their work and reporting any quality, or perceived quality problems through their line manager or direct to the QHSE Manager.
Carry out any business and project tasks.
Aptitude and attitude.
Internal and external audits.
Close working relationship with all areas for quality awareness, continual improvement and HSE matters.

Education / Qualifications:
HNC/HND, Degree or equivalent experience in quality discipline.
Relevant quality qualifications.
Relevant welding qualifications.
Member of a European engineering council institute
Quality auditor qualification.
Flexibility, adaptability and professionalism, with the ability to work cooperatively as part of a multidiscipline team, or on individual projects.
Quality Lead Auditor.
CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspection
Lean & 6 Sigma Training
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Self-starter and highly motivated individual.
Lean manufacturing experience
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
Previous experience within a quality department.
Previous experience working with quality management systems.
Previous auditing experience.
Maintain behaviour in compliance with client HSE requirements
Maintain responsibility and accountability through personal commitment and behaviour
Report any unsafe or environmentally unsound acts and conditions to their immediate Supervisor such that remedial action can be taken to manage the risk.
